What is the Wave of Light?

October 15 is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.At 7:00 PM in each time zone, candles are lit in a Wave of Light, uniting people worldwide.The SF event is inclusive of children lost at any age.

Where is the event?

Baker Beach is located in the Presidio of San Francisco.Use the parking lot closest to the Golden Gate Bridge, as it is near the restrooms and the event area.

How does the event work?

The ceremony includes a brief opening message, a reading of names, and a moment of silence.Each name submitted is commemorated with a lantern.

What should I bring?

We recommend bringing warm layers, or a blanket since it can get chilly by the water.Any items that would contribute to your personal healing is welcome.

Is the event accessible?

We aim to make the event accessible for everyone.Accessible parking and restroom is available near the ramp entrance.If you would like a beach wheelchair or other assistance, please note when registering.

What if I can't make the event?

If you can’t attend in person, we will be live streaming the event on our Instagram and Facebook pages.Light a candle at home at 7:00 PM local time, and share your experience on social media using the hashtag#WaveOfLightSF2025

What if it rains?

The event will take place rain or shine. In the case of heavy rain, participants are encouraged to bring umbrellas or rain gear.We will do our best to ensure everyone has a meaningful experience regardless of the weather.
